Nazis wanted to colonize Amazonian rainforest

London, October 25 :

Nazis had ventured into the Amazonian woods planning to establish a Nazi South American colony, reveals a new book. Jens Gluessing's 'The Guyana Project:
A German Adventure' on the Amazon claims that the Nazis hunted for appropriate sites believing they were born to colonise various parts of the world like the pioneers of the wild west in America.Following the ideology, the German researchers undertook an expedition to a distant region of the Brazilian Amazon to set up a Nazi station. Gluessing substantiates the claim with his findings of a 9ft-high wooden cross engraved with swastikas on a tributary of the Jari River, reports the Telegraph. The inscription said: "Joseph Greiner died here on 2.1.1936, a death from fever in the service of German Research Work." The author further added, the premiere motive of Greiner, sent by the SS, was to investigate the area with the motive of colonizing it.Though his team had to apparently face defeat owing to the Amazonian hardships, the explorers however, had managed to report the habitable situations in Brazil to their head Heinrich Himmler.Talking of the Amazon area, Dr Otto Schulz-Kampfhenkel, an SS officer and leader of the expedition, had written to Himmler: "For the more advanced white race it offers outstanding possibilities for exploitation."..>>>> http://www.brazilnews.net/story/422654
