Μέσα στην θύελλα των πτωχεύσεων των τραπεζών και του πολέμου στην Ν Οσσετία, οι εξελίξεις στην Ουκρανία περνούν απαρατήρητες και χωρίς την δέουσα προσοχή.Η Ουκρανία αποτέλεσε σημείο σιωπηλής αντιπαράθεσης και περιζήτητη νύφη τα τελευταία 10 χρόνια. Η περίφημη νίκη της Ουκρανίας στην Eurovision και η μετέπειτα διοργάνωση της στο Κίεβο , αποτέλεσε τον προάγγελο της Πορτοκαλί «επανάστασης» του διδύμου Γιουτσένκο – Τιμοσένκο. Η αντιρωσική πολιτική του Γιουτσένκο κορυφώθηκε κατά την διάρκεια της εισβολής στην Ν Οσσετία , με την παροχή όπλων και χειριστών , ακόμα και αφού είχαν αρχίσει οι επιχειρήσεις του Γεωργιανού στρατού.
Αυτό ίσως να αποτέλεσε και την αφορμή για την αίτηση διαζυγίου από την Τιμοσένκο , από τον ήδη διαλυμένο γάμος τους, διάλυση που προήρθε από την γκρίνια της ανέχειας και της ελλειμματικής ανάπτυξης, καθώς πληθώρα οικονομικών προβλημάτων συσσωρεύονται και εξανεμίζουν την ευφορία των πρώτων «επαναστατικών» χρόνων.
Η Ουκρανία αποτελεί βαθιά διαιρεμένη χώρα. Διαίρεση που δεν συνεπάγεται απαραίτητα συγκρούσεις , κυρίως λόγω της κοινής ιστορίας, αλλά η διαίρεση αυτή υπάρχει υποβόσκουσα σε όλα τα επίπεδα της κοινωνικής ζωής, οικονομικό, πολιτισμικό , γλωσσικό , θρησκευτικό. Πιθανή προσπάθεια συμμετοχής της Ουκρανίας στο ΝΑΤΟ θα έχει σαν αποτέλεσμα, κατά πάσα πιθανότητα , την διαίρεση της χώρας στο Β. Δυτικό ( φιλοδυτικό) και στο Ν. Ανατολικό ( φίλο Ρωσικό) κομμάτι , κομμάτι που περιλαμβάνει περιοχές από την Οδησσό , την Κριμαία , και το Βιομηχανικό Ντονέτσκ.
Οι εξελίξεις λοιπόν στην Ουκρανία, αποτελούν σήμερα τις πιο σημαντικές στο Ευρωπαϊκό ( και όχι μόνο) επίπεδο

Yushchenko abolishes court for overturning election decree

KIEV, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has abolished a Kiev court that had earlier suspended his decree to dissolve parliament and call early parliamentary elections, his press service said.
Yushchenko signed a decree late Monday abolishing the Kiev District Court, replacing it with two administrative courts, after the court ruled in favor of a lawsuit filed by the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc Saturday against the president and the Central Election Commission (CEC) and overturned the presidential decree to dissolve parliament.
The secretariat of President Yushchenko filed an appeal later Saturday against the ruling.
The Kiev Prosecutor's Office has launched a criminal case against the Kiev judge who ruled to suspend the decree on allegations of knowingly passing an unlawful ruling.
The country's pro-Western ruling coalition collapsed on September 3 when the pro-presidential Our Ukraine withdrew from the alliance after Tymoshenko's bloc joined with the opposition Party of Regions, led by Russia-friendly Viktor Yanukovych, to approve legislation substantially cutting presidential powers. Yushchenko called the move a "constitutional coup."
Under the Ukrainian constitution, the president can dissolve parliament and call early elections if no majority coalition is formed within 30 days.
The coalition was officially dissolved on September 16 and, according to the Ukrainian law, elections must take place 60 days after parliament has been dissolved.

KIEV, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's government again refused on Tuesday to allocate election campaign funds and urged President Viktor Yushchenko to reverse a decision calling for early parliamentary polls, the UNIAN agency said.
Yushchenko dissolved the legislature and called early polls for December 7 after his ruling "orange" coalition with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko collapsed after the premier's party sided with the opposition in passing a law to cut his presidential powers.
First Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov was quoted by the agency as saying that 15 members of the cabinet voted in favor of the decision to withhold campaign funds and against new early elections, with nine voting against. Speaking at a cabinet session before the vote, Tymoshenko reiterated that she opposed the snap election - the third since 2004 street protests brought Yushchenko to power - saying they would "lead to chaos and destruction" as the economy has been affected by the global credit crisis.
"I am calling on the president to cancel early elections and do everything to ensure the country runs smoothly," Tymoshenko said. The government had been ordered to allocate $80 million from the state reserve for the election campaign on Monday. Tymoshenko's bloc also filed an appeal against the presidential decree with a Kiev court, which blocked preparations for the polls on Saturday.
Yushchenko responded by ordering the court's closure on Monday. The premier said her party would challenge the order. UNIAN also said, citing a security source, that Yushchenko had ordered troops to guard the Central Election Commission, which is being blocked by Tymoshenko Bloc members trying to prevent it from declaring the start of the election campaign until the litigation process is concluded.
The developments have revived memories of last year's crisis in the ex-Soviet state, when Yushchenko ordered a troop buildup in the capital, bringing Interior Ministry troops under his direct control.
Yushchenko and Tymoshenko, leaders of the 2004 "orange revolution," have drifted apart over a host of issues, including more recently over Russia's war with Georgia in August. Both are expected to run for president in 2010.
