Bahrain's military court has sentenced four anti-government protesters to death,

Bahrain's military court has sentenced four anti-government protesters to death, in a move to further crush the ongoing revolutionary movement in the small Persian Gulf country. This comes while the Manama regime rejects reports by a number of human rights groups on massive rights violations in the country. According to local sources, Bahraini authorities have raided hospitals, torturing doctors and injuring anti-government protesters in an effort to quell mass protests.

Human Rights Watch, Doctors Without Borders and Physicians for Human Rights have charged Bahraini security officials with systematic attacks on doctors and patients. Physicians for Human Rights say doctors and nurses have been detained, tortured or disappeared because they have "evidence of atrocities committed by the authorities, security forces and riot police" in the crackdown on anti-government protesters.

Break the Silence in the UAE

Hannah GurmanAs democratic uprisings have spread across the Middle East in the Arab Spring, the U.S. response has been as notable for its silences as for its selective words and deeds on behalf of the democracy movements in the region.
It took weeks of incessant protest in Tunisia and Egypt before the Obama administration was willing to say much or do anything to support the protesters. And while the United States intervened in Libya to protect civilians being killed by Gaddafi, it has responded to the uprisings in Bahrain and Iraq with a particular quiescence. The Obama administration has hardly said a peep about the need for democracy in Saudi Arabia or the other oil-rich states of the Gulf, even as the regimes of these regions are cracking down on the small but growing number of democracy activists in their midst.

US debt crisis getting serious

31 states can't pay for promised benefits and pensions of retirees.
According to the Pew Research Center, collectively states are short 1.26 trillion dollars. States were short 1 trillion on promises to retirees and in just one year the funding gap grew 26 percent and funding levels of ten additional states deteriorated. Pensions are deemed "underfunded" when states are unable to pay at least 80 percent of liabilities.

Burning humans, suspected of witchcraft in the "stable" democracy of Kenya

Religion at its best again. Five people from Kenyan village Kisii Nyamataro were slowly burned alive because they were suspected of witchcraft. Translation -- they did not acknowledge Jesus Christ as their God. The five young people, both men and women were beaten with sticks and set on fire to slowly roast while other villagers, including priests watched the spectacle. Religion always brings out the best in people, doesn't it?

LAHORE – Scores of young men lined up before Pearl Continental Hotel, on the Mall Road of Lahore were anxious of their turn to appear before the visiting delegation of the Bahrain National Guards (BNG). These men, a mix of retired army personnel and fresh graduates in 20s of their age, had come across far-flung areas of Punjab to apply for recruitment of BNG, an armed force of Bahrain, which is going to stretch its duties fabric due to uprising against the Bahrain’s caliphate.

US missiles kill 22 people in Pakistan tribal area

U.S. drones fired five missiles at a house in a Pakistani tribal region near the Afghan border on Friday, killing at least 22 people, Pakistani intelligence officials said. The strike came a day after Pakistan's army chief denounced such attacks, and could further sour already deteriorating relations between Washington and Islamabad.

Turkey says yes to Palestine statehood

Turkey has expressed support for the unilateral Palestinian declaration of independence and has urged the international community to help Palestinians "live in peace and with dignity." Turkey joined the list of countries backing the Palestinian Authority's quest to gain UN recognition for an independent state, Today's Zaman reported in an article published on Saturday.

“Through their state building efforts, the Palestinian Authority has proven to all the skeptics that they deserve to attain their decades-long target of internationally recognized statehood, even though they continue to suffer under occupation,” Turkey's UN ambassador, Ertugrul Apakan, said on Thursday.  If Palestinians prove objectively ready to move from the current observer status at the UN into full statehood, the international community “must not turn a blind eye to their just and legitimate appeal,” the English-language daily quoted Apakan as saying at a Security Council session on the Middle East.  “The time has come to show solidarity with the Palestinians and help them to live in peace and dignity,” the Turkish diplomat stated.

Apakan also insisted that the needs of those who live in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip must be urgently addressed. Palestinians have been campaigning to win UN recognition for a state that encompasses the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and illegally annexed East al-Quds (Jerusalem) -- territories Israel captured in the Six-Day War of 1967.

Kissinger Calls For US Ground Invasion Of Libya

Kissinger Calls For US Ground Invasion Of Libya 220411top
Despite the fact that the United States is embroiled in three major conflicts and can barely service its own gigantic debt, with Standard and Poor this week indicating the US will soon lose its triple-A credit rating, top globalist and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger recently told fellow elitists at three different globalist confabs that the US needs to launch a ground invasion of Libya and keep the war running for at least another year.

Yemeni president agrees to step down in 30 days

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh 's ruling party and opposition announced Saturday their official acceptance to the amended Gulf-mediated initiative of transferring power as Saleh renewed his warning of potential civil war in case of no reconciliation. The ruling party's online website said on Saturday that Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi submitted their acceptance during the visit of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani.  Meanwhile, spokesman of the opposition Joint Meeting Parties ( JMP) Mohamed Qahtan told Xinhua on Saturday that the JMP officially accepted the recent Gulf plan.

France has sent a team of military advisors to Libya

France say it has sent a team of military advisors to Libya in an attempt to organize opposition fighters against the embattled Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi. The French foreign ministry says military advisors would provide logistics and intelligence training to anti-government forces in Benghazi, the opposition stronghold. "France has placed a small number of liaison officers alongside our special envoy to Benghazi who are carrying out a liaison mission with the TNC," AFP quoted foreign ministry spokeswoman Christine Fage as saying.

Goodluck Jonathan 'to win outright

Goodluck Jonathan is set for election as Nigeria's president with almost double the vote of his main rival, partial results suggest. Figures provided by regional officials suggest he has garnered enough votes to avoid a run-off. A BBC correspondent says there is a sense of relief and jubilation that the vote and count have been relatively calm, unlike in past years.

Nationalist True Finns make gains in Finland vote

A nationalist party has taken nearly a fifth of votes in Finland's general election, the electoral commission says. The True Finns finished just behind the conservative NCP and the Social Democrats on around 19%.
While the Social Democrats have called for changes on EU bail-outs, including the planned Portuguese rescue, True Finns opposes the plans altogether. A hostile Finnish government could theoretically veto the package. Unlike other eurozone countries, Finland's parliament can vote on whether to approve the measures. Correspondents say the increased sway of Euro-sceptics in Finland's parliament could hold up any further bail-out deals.
As the biggest party, the NCP is tipped to lead the next government with former Finance Minister Jyrki Katainen likely to become prime minister of whatever coalition emerges, replacing Mari Kiviniemi of the Centre Party.

Israel: P.A. Statehood a 'Diplomatic Tsunami'

No more NDP in Egypt

 No more NDP in Egypt

This is a good news of the day : The administrative court has issued a historical rule on April 16, 2011 :
The former National democratic party “New National party” to be dissolved and its HQs and assets to transferred to the state !!
It is simply the best.
I once read a comment in twitter following the provoking press conference held by the party after changing its name and Smokes still there appointing a new chairman that President Sadat was the man who founded the New Democratic National party and Talaat Sadat was the man who will bring down the New National party.
This long waited verdict is the best slap on the arrogance of the NDP members “former members to be accurate” who do not want to give up and admit the crimes they have committed against this great nation.

Hounding Bahrain activists

Bahrain abducts two senior clerics
Bahraini forces have abducted two senior clerics as the government is putting more pressure to suffocate anti-regime protests. The Saudi-backed Bahraini forces arrested clerics Sayyed Mohammad al-Alawi and Sheikh Abdul Adim al-Mohtadi in the capital Manama on Monday. It comes after the Bahraini government dismissed 30 doctors and 150 health ministry workers for supporting anti-government protests, a Press TV correspondent reported. Meanwhile, police stormed schools on Monday and arrested teachers ahead of a planned strike. Earlier, Bahraini authorities expelled 16 Lebanese nationals from the country. The move came after the leader of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, voiced support for the Bahraini protesters. Bahraini people have been demanding an end to the two-century-long rule of the Al Khalifa dynasty since February 14. Scores of protesters have been killed and many others gone missing since the beginning of the revolution. Bahraini forces have reinforced a massive armed crackdown

Northern Ireland police defuse huge bomb

Belfast, Northern Ireland (CNN) -- Authorities in Northern Ireland on Saturday defused a bomb packed into a bin containing 500 pounds of homemade explosives, police said.
The bin was located in a van abandoned outside Newry, along the main roadway between Dublin and Belfast, said District Commander Alastair Robinson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
He blamed the foiled attack on dissident republicans who are accused of killing a police officer with a booby-trap bomb in Omagh on April 2.

Tahrir Square on Saturday, hours after several thousand riot police, uniformed soldiers and military police officers stormed it.
CAIRO — Egypt’s security forces shot and killed at least two protesters and injured dozens more in a predawn attempt Saturday to disperse peaceful demonstrators spending the night in the capital’s iconic Tahrir Square, according to government security officials and witnesses. The crackdown was the most brutal since the overthrow of former President Hosni Mubarak on Feb. 11 and since the military started running the country. The military on Saturday denied that anyone had been killed and described the protesters in the square as “thugs.” It also appeared to be trying to distance itself from the violence, saying the forces in the square were police officers under the control of the Interior Ministry. But the army’s recounting of the events was contrary even to a report from the Ministry of Health, which reported that one person had died.

Tahrir has "opened" again .. officially ..

Tahrir is officially back

And the millions have returned back to the Tahrir square today. I have not gone there this time , instead I watch the whole event on TV. Already if I went there , I would go from early morning to find a place as technically there is no empty place there.

Today officially was the “ The purification and trial Friday” , we are insisting of purifying the country from the old Mubarak’s regime remnants and the trial is a clear demand to start the trial of former President Mubarak Hosni. We want Hosni Mubarak to get a fair trial in front of the whole world.
