I am not saying that we should believe something only when it hits the OS.
My point is about proceeding forward from a single source report. We
shouldn't completely dismiss it but the issue is confirmation before
something related pops up in the OS.

p.s. I'm offended that we may believe an Iranian before a Jew.

Iran military landed US spy drone

An undated picture received Dec 8, 2011 shows a US RQ-170 unmanned spy plane displayed in front of a flag with Persian script that reads "Down with the US (top), down with Israel and down with Britain (bottom)" at an unknown location in Iran. The unmanned US drone Iran said on Sunday it had captured was programmed to automatically return to base even if its data link was lost, one key reason that US officials say the drone likely malfunctioned and was not downed by Iranian electronic warfare

anti-Tehran protests in Afghanistan .. an “enemy plot.” ?

Thousands of Afghan nationals residing in Iran have taken to the streets of a northwestern city to decry the “suspicious” anti-Tehran protests in Afghanistan as an “enemy plot.”
Protesters hailed the solidarity between Iran and Afghanistan on Saturday, a Press TV correspondent reported.Shouting slogans like “The enemy's plot is to sow discord” and “Muslims, stay vigilant!” and carrying banners reading “Viva Iran and Afghanistan,” the crowd proceeded through the streets of Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi Province. One Afghan figure delivering a speech at the event, condemned the latest move as “anti-Islam,” saying, “Those who gathered outside the Iranian Embassy in Kabul and insulted Iranian officials and the Islamic Republic's flag, which bears the pure name of 'Allah,' were provoked and deceived by the global arrogance.”On January 13, a group consisting of less than 50 Afghan nationals chanted insulting slogans against the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the allegation that Iran had delayed the transit of fuel trucks to Afghanistan.Western media launched propaganda against Iran by trying to harm Iran's popularity in Afghanistan and undermining its efforts in reconstruction of Afghanistan.“The Afghan expatriate are gathering today in Mashhad, Tehran and Qom it is their Islamic duty [to do so], in the face of unfair desecration of the Holy Qur'an by the Americans,” said Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Isa Hosseini Mazari, who heads a religious information website, Tebyan.“Attacking and insulting the Holy Qur'an is not the only crime of the US forces in Afghanistan and probably will not be ther last,” he added.Protesters issued a joint statement at the end of the demonstration in which they said that the global arrogance “has adapted a new scenario with the aim of sowing discord between Iran and Afghanistan.”The statement also said that all “Afghan woes” are the outcome of the 2001 US-led invasion of the country. The demonstrations came a day after hundreds of Afghan nationals gathered in front of the UNHCR office in Tehran to protest the anti-Iranian insults made by a few Afghans in Kabul.

Fresh US-led military offensives have completely destroyed a town in southern Afghanistan, as public discontent continues to grow over civilian casualties.
The US-led military alliance says the operation targeted Taliban militants in the violent Kandahar Province. Media reports, however, say most of the victims in Tarok Kolache town were Afghan civilians.
According to the Daily Mail report, the bombing completely erased the town and its surroundings from the map. The British daily has also published images of the town before and after the operation in a bid to show the scale of destruction. The developments come as a recent report says US-led military operations have inflicted over USD 100 million in damages on public property in southern Afghanistan.
Afghans blame foreign troops and their military operations for civilian deaths. The rising number of civilian casualties has increased anti-US sentiments in the troubled region. The Afghan interior ministry has recently said that 2010 has been the deadliest year for civilians since the US-led invasion in 2001. The ministry says more than 2,000 civilians lost their lives in violence across Afghanistan. Civilians have been the main victims of violence in Afghanistan, particularly in the country's troubled southern and eastern provinces, where they are killed by both militant and foreign fire. The surge in violence comes despite the presence of 150,000 foreign troops, which are engaged in the so-called war on terrorism.

The war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record highs, has become the longest war in US history. The issue of civilian casualties has long been a source of friction between Kabul and Washington.

Israel, NATO Launch Spying Operation against Iran at Afghan Borders

TEHRAN (FNA)- A prominent Afghan military analyst unveiled that Israel has deployed its troops at a NATO base in Afghanistan near Iran's border to launch joint operations against the Islamic Republic.

Speaking to FNA about NATO's $184 million plan to upgrade Shindand Air Base in Western Afghanistan and 20 miles from the Iranian border, Javid Kohestani said, "The NATO member states are reconstructing the base in a bid to harm the Islamic Republic of Iran and to spy against Iran."

He recalled previous reports about the deployment of Israeli forces in Shindand base, and noted, "Accordingly, the reconstruction of the base by the NATO is considered as one of the NATO's clandestine programs to harm the Islamic Republic of Iran and promote Israel's spying activities in the region."

'Israel behind hit on Iran N-scientist' - Dr. Majid Shahriyari

(Reuters) - Two car bomb blasts killed an Iranian nuclear scientist and wounded another in Tehran on Monday in what Iranian officials called an Israeli or U.S.-sponsored attack on its atomic program. The bombings, rare attacks in the Iranian capital, occurred ahead of a possible meeting between Iran and major powers next month to discuss its nuclear activity, which Western officials suspect is aimed at developing atom bombs. Iran denies this.In the past few months, the Islamic Republic has arrested a number of alleged "nuclear spies," warning citizens against leaking information to foreign secret services. Majid Shahriyari was martyred and his wife was injured ... Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani and his wife were both wounded," state radio said, referring to the two scientists. "The attackers planted a bomb on each of the teachers' vehicles."Abbas-Davani has been personally subjected to U.N. sanctions because of what Western officials said was his involvement in suspected nuclear weapons research. He was "not seriously injured in the blast," the semi-official Mehr news agency said.Iran's atomic energy agency chief Ali Akbar Salehi said Shahriyari had a role in one of its biggest nuclear projects, but did not elaborate, the official news agency IRNA reported.Salehi warned enemies not to "play with fire" by carrying out such attacks. "Our nation's patience has a limit ... When it is over our enemies will face a tedious fate," Salehi said, as quoted by IRNA."Dr Shahriyari was my student for many years and he had good cooperation with the Atomic Energy Organization."

Iran's Adventures in Latin America

Iran's Adventures in Latin America

Iran's Ahmadinejad and Brazil's LulaAs the United States continues to isolate Iran over its nuclear program, the Islamic regime is engaging in a foreign policy counter-attack with profound strategic consequences. The theater of strategic warfare between the United States and Iran has expanded well beyond the Middle East.
Under immense short-term pressure from both within and without, the Iranian leadership has chosen to pursue a grand strategy in the most unlikely corners of the world. From sub-Saharan Africa to Latin America, Iran is selling arms, offering aid and investments, and otherwise establishing a new pattern in south-to-south relations as it battles what President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calls “Western arrogance.” Iran’s greatest achievement in Latin America is its strong ties with oil-rich Venezuela and its burgeoning friendship with rising great power Brazil. This bid for greater influence in the U.S. backyard has not yet led to a direct confrontation. But with a nuclear agreement still up in the air, Iran’s “Latin connection” may well pose an unwelcome challenge to the Obama administration.

"Britain, den of anti-Iran groups"

The Press TV report had it that Iran's Intelligence Ministry has arrested four UK-linked terrorists in the western city of Marivan. The ministry said the captured terrorists have confessed to assassinating five Iranians in the past two years and that they were supposed to receive $20,000 for each terrorist operation inside Iran but they were only paid $8000 in all. The terrorists also conceded that they have received orders and weapons from their chief in the Iraqi city of Soleimaniyeh, according to the ministry.

The terrorist chieftain is named Jalil Fattahi, who is currently residing in Britain. Fattahi is also one of the commanders of the Komole terrorist group, which has carried out several assassinations in western Iranian cities since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Kurdestan Komole Party was created in 1979 the same year that the Iranian nation managed to defeat corrupt monarchy of Mohamed Reza Pahlavi and establish the Islamic Republic of Iran. After the Islamic Revolution, the party took arm against the Islamic Republic system and its members resorted to terror attacks thanks to financial support they received from the then Iraqi regime under the Ba'ath Party.

Abandoning Sabotage in Iran

Abandoning Sabotage in Iran

Mahmoud AhmadinejadFor years, the United States and Israel have engaged in a covert effort to destabilize Iran’s government and sabotage its nuclear program. But these operations frequently escape mention in public discussions. By ignoring the covert effort, the current debate about the relative wisdom of diplomacy, sanctions, and preventive military action addresses an incomplete picture. To understand the challenges and potential of U.S.-Iranian relations, the covert program must be factored into the equation.
Although sabotage may prove successful in slowing Iranian nuclear progress in the short term, it actually stands as a barrier to a long-term resolution.
The Program
U.S. covert action in Iran has played a historically destructive role in U.S.-Iranian relations.  In 1953, when the United States was planning to overthrow Iran’s Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh, CIA agent Roger Goiran warned that the endeavor would harm long-term U.S. interests and lead Iran to view the United States as a supporter of “Anglo-French colonialism.” The CIA fired Goiran for his opposition and went forward with its plan, but his prediction came true.  The Islamic Revolution of 1979 brought to power a leader who dubbed America “the great Satan” and established a government legally founded on “the rejection of all forms of domination” and “non-alignment with respect to the hegemonist superpowers,” to quote Article 152 of Iran’s constitution.

Western hypocrisy, in two parallel cases - Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani & Teresa Lewis

The US Supreme Court has refused a last-minute appeal by a female convict diagnosed with borderline mental retardation for a stay of her execution.
Teresa Lewis was found guilty of plotting to kill her husband and step-son in 2002 for life insurance money. The court said in a ruling on Tuesday that the stay of execution request by the 41-year-old woman "is denied."  The ruling means that she will be executed by lethal injection on Thursday, September 23, becoming the first woman to be put to death in Virginia since 1912. Lewis has admitted to hiring two accomplices for the murders, but has denied pulling the trigger. Doctors, meanwhile, have said that she was not intelligent enough to mastermind the murders. Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, however, said that he could find "no compelling reason to set aside the sentence that was imposed by the Circuit Court and affirmed by all reviewing courts." Lewis is the first woman to be executed in the United States since 2005.
Human rights groups have described her conviction as 'unsubstantiated.' Amnesty International, for its part, has called on US officials to commute the death sentence of Lewis. The controversial case is reportedly not the first and will not be the last one in the US to draw fire over what has been described as "a mockery of justice." .. in parallel Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani in IRAN ..>>

Obama is Preparing to Bomb Iran

After about two and a half years during which the danger of war between the United States and Iran was at a relatively low level, this threat is now rapidly increasing. A pattern of political and diplomatic events, military deployments, and media chatter now indicates that Anglo-American ruling circles, acting through the troubled Obama administration, are currently gearing up for a campaign of bombing against Iran, combined with special forces incursions designed to stir up rebellions among the non-Persian nationalities of the Islamic Republic. Naturally, the probability of a new fake Gulf of Tonkin incident or false flag terror attack staged by the Anglo-American war party and attributed to Iran or its proxies is also growing rapidly.  ----  The moment in the recent past when the US came closest to attacking Iran was August-September 2007, at about the time of the major Israeli bombing raid on Syria.  This was the phase during which the Cheney faction in effect hijacked a fully loaded B-52 bomber equipped with six nuclear-armed cruise missiles, and attempted to take it to the Middle East outside of the command and control of the Pentagon, presumably to be used in a colossal provocation designed by the private rogue network for which Cheney was the visible face. A few days before the B-52 escaped control of legally constituted US authorities, a group of antiwar activists issued The Kennebunkport Warning of August 24-25, 2007, which had been drafted by the present writer.

Wiki leaks... and the provocations on IRAN - Obama Preparing to Attack Iran

War against Iran more likely — thanks to Wikileaks !!
By Paul Woodward on July 28, 2010
If the release of the Pentagon Papers epitomized the value of government leaks as a means of speaking truth to power, Wikileaks at this point can claim no such distinction.
As if to underline the extent to which the Afghan war logs are making the fog of war more, not less, dense, Katrina vanden Heuvel says: “more than a few commentators — including Daniel Ellsberg himself — have called [the war logs] a 21st-century Pentagon Papers.”
She may understandably have been misled by a headline in The Guardian that read: “Daniel Ellsberg describes Afghan war logs as on a par with ‘Pentagon Papers’.” However, “These documents are not the Pentagon Papers — we still await their equivalent for Afghanistan,” is what Ellsberg unambiguously told the Financial Times.
While Wikileak’s founder, Julian Assange, is no doubt sincere in his hope that these intelligence revelations will expose the futility of war, the fact is, because intelligence is not intelligent it can very easily be used to serve a host of diverging political agendas.
If opponents of the war in Afghanistan now feel better armed, so do proponents of an expanding war in Pakistan. Likewise, those pushing for military action against Iran will welcome a new supply of ammunition served by Wikileaks.

Resolution Green-Lighting Israeli Strikes on Iran Introduced by House Republicans

Republicans in the House of Representatives have introduced a measure that would green-light an Israeli bombing campaign against Iran. The resolution, H.Res. 1553 (in full below), provides explicit support for military strikes against Iran, stating that Congress supports Israel's use of "all means necessary" against Iran "including the use of military force". US military leaders have warned that strikes could be catastrophic to US national security interests and could engulf the Middle East in a "calamitous" regional war.Nearly a third of House Republicans have signed onto the resolution, which has been publicly discussed and circulated by its lead sponsor, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), for months. The National Iranian American Council is leading calls to oppose the measure, urging those concerned to demand that House Republican Leader John Boehner denounce the resolution. The introduction of the measure coincides with a pattern of renewed calls for military strikes that have escalated since President Obama signed "crippling" Congressional Iran sanctions into law. Neoconservatives who were instrumental in orchestrating the Iraq War, such as Bill Kristol, and Reuel Marc Gerecht, have led the stepped up calls for military action.

Shahram Amiri who was kidnapped by the US has arrived home in Tehran

An Iranian man who said he was kidnapped by the US has arrived home in Tehran, vowing to reveal more details of his claimed abduction while on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia last year.Arriving back in Iran early on Thursday, Amiri, 32, flashed a victory sign as he was given a tearful welcome by relatives and friends at Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport.Speaking to Al Jazeera during a transit stop in Qatar, Shahram Amiri said he was interrogated for 14 months by US agents who refused to allow him contact with his family, but that he "never cracked" and had not revealed any secret information about Iran's nuclear programme.Washington has denied the claims, saying Amiri had lived freely in the US, had himself reached out to US officials, and was free to come and go.Iranian authorities have repeatedly said that Amiri was seized by the CIA during a visit to Saudi Arabia last year, and Iran's state television has broadcast the text of what it said was an interview with him in which he claims he was abducted at gunpoint by US agents while attending the Hajj pilgrimage."They gave me a shot which made me unconscious and then transferred me to the US onboard a military plane," Amiri said in Tehran, before making allegations that he was tortured during interrogations in the US."Within the first two months, I was subjected to fierce mental and psychological torture by agents and interrogators from the US Central Intelligence Agency."

Speaking to Al Jazeera during his journey back to Iran, Amiri said he had been forced by US authorities to say in a video released on the internet that he was enjoying life in the state of Arizona.Al Jazeera has not been able to independently verify Amiri's allegations.

Iran hangs Jundallah leader Abdolmalek Rigi

Abdulmalik Rigi whilst on death row and nothing to lose came clean with the US role in Iran and its support for the Jundullah organisation. He was arrested in February while on a flight from Dubai to the US base in Kyrgyzstan
Ο Rigi σε συνέντευξη περιγράφει  την Αμερικανική εμπλοκή και υποστήριξη στις τρομοκρατικές ενέργειες κατά του ΙΡΑΝ

The leader of Jundallah group has been executed in Iran for his involvement in terrorist attacks in the Islamic state, state media report. Abdolmalek Rigi, head of Jundullah, was hanged at dawn at Tehran's Evin prison in the presence of the families of its victims, the Irna news agency said. Mr Rigi was accused of being behind a series of deadly bombings and raids in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan. He was arrested in February while on a flight from Dubai to the US base in  Kyrgyzstan. Four months after being captured by Iranian security forces when he was flying over the Persian Gulf en route to Kyrgyzstan, Mr Rigi was hanged on Sunday morning in accordance with a decision by the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Jundallah was "responsible for the killing of 154 members of security forces and other innocent people and wounding of 320 people since 2003" and was "linked to members of foreign intelligence services", it added. Mr Rigi had allegedly pleaded guilty to forming the "terrorist group Jundallah which was fighting the Islamic republic" and a number of other charges. "He collaborated and ordered 15 armed abductions, confessed to three murders, and ordered the murders of tens of citizens, police and military personnel through bombings and armed actions," the court statement added.
--------------------------------

On Tuesday Feb. 23, Iran announced the capture of Abdulmalek Rigi, the boss of the terror organization Jundullah, which works for NATO. The capture of Rigi represents a serious setback for the US-UK strategy of using false flag state-sponsored terrorism against Iran and Pakistan, and ultimately to sabotage China’s geopolitics of oil. The Iranians claim to have captured Rigi all by themselves, but the Pakistani ambassador to Teheran is quoted in The Dawn as claiming an important role for Pakistan. The Iranians say that Rigi was attempting to fly from Dubai to Kyrgystan, and that his plane was forced to land in Iran by Iranian interceptors. This exploit recalls Oliver North’s 1985 intercept of the accused Achille Lauro perpetrators, including Abu Abbas, forcing their Egyptian plane to land at Sigonella, Sicily. But other and perhaps more realistic versions suggest that Iran was tipped off by the Pakistanis, or even that Rigi was captured by Pakistan and delivered to the Iranians.
Jundullah, otherwise known as the Rigi organization, is a clan-based Mafia organization that has long infested the Iran-Pakistan border. The Rigis are traditionally smugglers and drug pushers of royalist persuasion, and now they have branched out into terrorism. Jundullah is mounting a Sunni rebellion against the Shiite Iranian regime in Iranian Baluchistan. They have blown up a Shiite mosque, killing 25, and managed to kill 50 in a bombing in Pishin last October, where their victims included some top commanders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, against which Mrs. Clinton has now declared war. There is no doubt that Jundullah is on the US payroll. This fact has been confirmed byBrian Ross of ABC News, the London Daily Telegraph, and by Seymour Hersh in the New Yorker. Hersh noted that Jundullah has received some of the $400 million appropriated by the US Congress in the most recent Bush-era regime change legislation targeting Iran.
Jundullah is a key part of the US-UK strategy of fomenting ethnic and religious civil war in both Iran and Pakistan. Jundullah is a twofer in this context, since it can help destabilize both sides of the Iran-Pakistan border. Baluchistan has special importance because any oil pipeline linking Iran with China must go straight across Baluchistan. Jundullah’s false flag jihad is a means to make sure that strategic pipeline, which would help solve China’s energy problem, is never built.
There is also no doubt that Jundullah functions as an arm of NATO, a kind of irregular warfare asset similar in some ways to the KLA of Kosovo. Rigi is reported by the Iranians to have met with Jop de Hoop Scheffer when he was NATO Secretary General. Rigi has also met with various NATO generals operating in Afghanistan. Who knows — he may have met with McChrystal himself, a covert ops veteran from Iraq.
This capture comes at a moment when Baluchistan is the object of intense US-UK exertions. The current US-NATO offensive in southern Afghanistan targets Marjah and the rest of Helmand province, which directly faces Baluchistan. Many observers were puzzled when the US and NATO publicized the Marjah offensive in advance. Militarist talking heads like General Barry McCaffrey responded that the main goal of the Marjah offensive was not to destroy the Taliban, but to drive them out of the province. It was thus clear from the beginning that the real goal was to drive the Helmand Taliban fighters into Pakistani Baluchistan. Why?
A statement from the Afghan Taliban covered on the RIA Novosti web site suggests that the real goal of the US-NATO offensive in Marjah-Helmand is to attack Chinese economic interests in Pakistani Baluchistan, and especially the port of Gwadar, one of China’s largest overseas projects. If the US can push the Taliban into Pakistani Baluchistan and into the area around Gwadar, they will have a pretext for militarization – perhaps through Blackwater mercenaries, who are already operating massively in Pakistan, or perhaps through direct US military involvement in the zone. US jackboots on the ground in Baluchistan would interfere mightily with Chinese economic development plans. They would also allow the US to commandeer Gwadar as the home port of a new NATO supply line into southern Afghanistan, allowing the avoidance of the Khyber Pass bottleneck. The US could also use Baluchistan as a springboard for bigger and better terror ops into Iran, electronic surveillance of Iranian activities, and so forth.
The US and NATO had evidently planned a double envelopment of Baluchistan, with Taliban fighters from Helmand arriving from the north, while the Jundullah escalated their own activity on the ground. Now that Rigi has joined his brother in Iranian jails, Jundullah has been decapitated, and the NATO strategy has consequently been undermined. Iran has bagged a dangerous terrorist foe. Another winner is Pakistan, where The Dawn celebrated the capture of Rigi as “a godsend” and “a lucky break” for Pakistan. By helping Rigi to fall into Iranian hands, Pakistan may have finally found an effective way to counter the US-UK strategy, which notoriously aims at the breakup and partition of Pakistan. The coming Iranian trial of Rigi may go far towards exposing the real mechanism of terrorism in today’s world, with the CIA sitting in the dock next to Rigi
