Zbigniew Brzezinski speaking.. (again...)

Zbigniew Brzezinski
Zbigniew Brzezinski
Edward Luce, Washington columnist and commentator for the Financial Times, waited to the next to the last paragraph of his description of lunch with his friend, Zbigniew Brzezinski, to drop a bombshell. As they finished off their lasagna and taglierini, and after he recorded that the former U.S. National Security adviser is worried about China and President Obama, the subject of the next presidential election came up.
During the interview at Washington’s Teatro Goldoni restaurant, Brzezinski admitted to having voted for Republicans a couple of times (one being George H.W. Bush).  “A good election is one that would shape out in an intelligent victory by Obama,” he said, adding that, however, “There is no sign of that from the other side.” “Which means Obama will win,” asked Luce. Well, not at all, says Brzezinski. “My fear is that two or three weeks before the election something will happen – an October surprise. If Iran were struck by Israelis during October, the negative effects would not be felt until late November and December. The first effect would be, ‘Ah, how wonderful. Let’s get behind the Israelis.’ Then all bets would be off.”
Now, Brzezinski is no peacenik, and most of his policies are not something any progressive could support. The bloody mess in Afghanistan is largely his fault. But when you read his writings or hear him speak you come away confident that he is, for the most part, sane and sensible. His comment about Iran should have made the front pages of the big newspapers – and gone viral on the blogs.

Ιn a nuclear crisis that is becoming increasingly serious, Japan’s Nuclear Safety Agency confirmed that radioactive iodine-131 in seawater samples taken near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power complex that was seriously damaged by the recent tsunami off the coast of Japan is 4,385 times the level permitted by law. Airborne radiation near the plant has been measured at 4-times government limits. Tokyo Electric Power Company, the company that operates the crippled plant, has begun releasing more than 11,000 tons of radioactive water that was used to cool the fuel rods into the ocean while it attempts to find the source of radioactive leaks. The water being released is about 100 times more radioactive than legal limits.

Japanese officials have conceded that the battle to salvage four crippled reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant has been lost. The plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power [Tepco], said the reactors would be scrapped, and warned that the operation to contain the nuclear crisis, now well into its third week, could last months. Tepco's announcement came as new readings showed a dramatic increase in radioactive contamination in the sea near the atomic complex. The firm's chairman, Tsunehisa Katsumata, said it had "no choice" but to scrap the Nos 1-4 reactors, but held out hope that the remaining two could continue to operate. It is the first time the company has conceded that the at least part of the plant will have to be decommissioned.

(Reuters) - Japan appeared resigned on Monday to a long fight to contain the world's most dangerous atomic crisis in 25 years after high radiation levels complicated work at its crippled nuclear plant.Engineers have been battling to control the six-reactor Fukushima complex since it was damaged by a March 11 earthquake and tsunami that also left more than 27,000 people dead or missing across Japan's devastated northeast.A magnitude 6.5 earthquake rocked the region on Monday, the latest in a series of aftershocks, and officials warned it would trigger a 50-cm (two feet) tsunami wave.Radiation at the nuclear plant has soared in recent days. Latest readings on Sunday showed contamination 100,000 times normal in water at reactor No. 2 and 1,850 times normal in the nearby sea.

the health ministry agreed to raise the upper limit to 250 microsievert for the plant staff in a bid to ensure they have adequate working hours,...

Tokyo Electric Power Co.(TEPCO) said early Saturday that some workers at the troubled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant have been exposed to radiation higher than the allowable dose.At a press conference, TEPCO officials said that the allowable upper limit of radiation was set at 100 microsievert for workers conducting an emergency operation.Several members of staff at the plant have been exposed to radiation higher than the limit while working outside the facilities buildings, they said.As radioactive leaks were an unprecedented emergency, the firm decided to raise the upper allowable doze to 150 microsievert, according to the TEPCO officials. And TEPCO has decided that these sufferers of excessive radiation will no longer be set to on-site tasks in the nuclear plant, local media reported.Faced with the risks and threats of radioactive leaks at the plant, the health ministry agreed to raise the upper limit to 250 microsievert for the plant staff in a bid to ensure they have adequate working hours, according to the reports

Everybody knew what Thaci did

Everybody knew what Thaci did
LJUBLJANA -- Killing of witnesses, the fact that everybody knew what Hashim Thaci was doing and destruction of evidence is a scandal, Dick Marty told Slovenian daily Delo.
>>> http://garizo.blogspot.com/2009/04/house-of-horrors-serbians-kidnapped-for.html <<<  “Everybody kept quiet. That’s the real scandal, not my report in which I only wrote what many have known for a long time,” the Council of Europe (CoE) rapporteur was quoted as saying. He added that Thaci’s name had often been mentioned in police reports, diplomatic cables, criminal studies and foreign intelligence agencies’ reports. “That means that the West knew all along very well what was happening in Kosovo, but no one took any action,” the CoE rapporteur told the Slovenian daily. Commenting on first UNMIK Chief Bernard Kouchner’s reaction to a reporter’s question about the human organ trafficking, Marty said: “A man who laughs at such a horrific topic says a lot about himself”.

The Perfect Genetic Storm – Synthetic DNA and the Gulf Blue Plague ...

The Perfect Genetic Storm – Synthetic DNA and the Gulf Blue Plague

Quickly add Syn-Bio (available from JCVI, SGI, and other private companies) along with a colloidal mixture containing iron, copper, and other natural elements to begin the interactive brewing process. Let it sit for no less than 6-9 months making sure nothing is allowed to disturb it. When there is no more gas coming to the surface and the mixture on the bottom turns into a gelatinous black goo, the first stage of the recipe is finished.
The amazing thing about this new state-of-the-art recipe is what it becomes after the initial first stage brewing process is finished. No-one knows! It’s no wonder some have begun to refer to it as The Blue Plate (BP) Special. You can be assured that once the second stage of this concoction begins to release its mutated biological ingredients, as it appears to have done so already, the rest of the world will abruptly notice.

US Senate approves Russia nuclear treaty

US Senate approves Russia nuclear treaty
US senators have voted to ratify a much-delayed nuclear arms treaty that will pave the way for new cuts in American and Russian nuclear arsenals.
After months of wrangling in the Senate, where it needed a two-thirds majority, the New Start treaty was passed by a vote of 71 to 26.The treaty requires the US and Russia to cut their deployed nuclear warheads by some 30%.It must still pass Russia's parliament, a move expected next spring.Despite lengthy protests from a number of congressional Republicans, 13 Republican Senators voted with the Democrats during Wednesday's vote.Top Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, John McCain and Jon Kyl, had opposed ratification of the treaty. But correspondents say the ratification will be seen as a foreign policy success for US President Barack Obama. After the vote, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry said: "This historic Senate vote makes our country safer and moves the world further away from the danger of nuclear disaster.
"The winners are not defined by party or ideology. The winners are the American people, who are safer with fewer Russian missiles aimed at them, and who benefit knowing that our co-operation with Russia in curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions and supplying our troops in Afghanistan can be strengthened."
Russian 're-set'  The New Start treaty, which will replace its lapsed predecessor, Start (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty), was signed by Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart, President Dmitry Medvedev, in April 2010.It trims US and Russian nuclear arsenals to 1,550 deployed nuclear warheads - a cut of about 30% from a limit set eight years ago.The treaty would also allow each side visually to inspect the other's nuclear capability, with the aim of verifying how many warheads each missile carries.A previous inspection regime - part of the old Start treaty - expired a year ago.In addition, there will be legally binding limits on the number of warheads and missiles that can be deployed on land, on submarines, and on bombers, at any one time.

’House of horrors’: Serbians kidnapped for organs - Operated without narcosis !!

Serbia has said it is willing to talk with leaders in Pristina over Kosovo’s future status, but have also demanded an investigation into alleged organ trafficking during its drive for independence.A report last week by Council of Europe investigator Dick Marty, suggested Kosovo’s prime minister Hashim Thaci was behind the illegal trade. Thaci’s vowed to sue.‘‘Dick Marty must find some good lawyers, if he is able to, to protect him, because under no circumstances will he escape from justice and this crystal clear slander,’‘ he said.Kidney’s as well as other organs were allegedly taken from Serbs and other opponents of rebel Kosovar forces during Kosovo’s war of succession in 1999.Serbian President Boris Tadic said the report ‘‘created a completely new situation’‘ and showed there were not only crimes committed by Serbs in Kosovo during the conflict.Kosovo’s Western-backed prime minister Thaci has vehemently denied the accusations which are alleged to have taken place in neighbouring Albania in the late 1990s.

Former WikiLeaks insiders to set up rival site

A rival site for WikiLeaks will be set by former insiders of the whistleblowing website, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported. The new site, Openleaks, is expected to be launched on Monday. The site will allow whistleblowers to leak information to the public anonymously but instead of hosting documents itself, it will act as an intermediary between whistleblowers and other groups including media organizations. "Our long term goal is to build a strong, transparent platform to support whistleblowers, both in terms of technology and politics, while at the same time encouraging others to start similar projects," an Openleaks organizer, who wished to remain anonymous, told the newspaper. "As a short-term goal, this is about completing the technical infrastructure and ensuring that the organization continues to be democratically governed by all its members, rather than limited to one group or individual.""As a result of our intention not to publish any document directly and in our own name, we do not expect to experience the kind of political pressure which WikiLeaks is under at this time," a source told Dagens Nyheter. "In that aspect, it is quite interesting to see how little of politicians' anger seems directed at the newspapers using WikiLeaks sources."

Israel appears only in 77 Wikileaks docs

A study of the U.S. State Department cables so far released by the WikiLeaks showed that there are merely 77 documents which mention Israel and only a handful have material pertaining to Tel Aviv.
On its website WikiLeaks says it has so far released "almost 20,000" of the "251,287 leaked United States embassy cables." The release, however, raised questions as it doe not contain any incriminating or embarrassing document against Israel. "No classified Israeli material was exposed by WikiLeaks," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in November, suggesting that Tel Aviv viewed the release as a positive. An Israeli-born investigative journalist has found evidence that WikiLeaks "struck a deal with Israel," based on which the websites founder Julian Assange would withhold cables incriminating Israel in exchange for money. Lia Abramovitch -- an Israeli investigative Journalist born to holocaust-survivor parents -- who writes for Syriatruth website, cites former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg as her source. Domscheit-Berg says Assange had received money from semi-official Israeli sources and promised them, in a “secret, video-recorded agreement.”

WikiLeaks 'struck a deal with Israel' over diplomatic cables leaks..(?)

We should obviously all support WikiLeaks and its founder and spokesperson, Julian Assange, who has just been arrested in Britain, in this dirty war by states around the globe against transparency and openness. But in the world of politics, sadly, things are never as innocent as they appear. According to new revelations, Assange had allegedly struck a deal with Israel before the recent 'cable gate', which may explain why the leaks “were good for Israel,” as the Israeli prime minister put it.
A number of commentators, particularly in Turkey and Russia, have been wondering why the hundreds of thousands of American classified documents leaked by the website last month did not contain anything that may embarrass the Israeli government, like just about every other state referred to in the documents. The answer appears to be a secret deal struck between the WikiLeaks “heart and soul”, as Assange humbly described himself once [1], with Israeli officials, which ensured that all such documents were 'removed' before the rest were made public. According to an Arabic investigative journalism website [2], Assange had received money from semi-official Israeli sources and promised them, in a “secret, video-recorded agreement,” not to publish any document that may harm Israeli security or diplomatic interests. The sources of the Al-Haqiqa report are said to be former WikiLeaks volunteers who have left the organisation in the last few months over Assange's “autocratic leadership” and “lack of transparency.”

WMR has learned from Asian intelligence sources that there is a strong belief in some Asian countries, particularly China and Thailand, that the website Wikileaks, which purports to publish classified and sensitive documents while guaranteeing anonymity to the providers, is linked to U.S. cyber-warfare and computer espionage operations, as well as to Mossad’s own cyber-warfare activities.  Wikileaks claims to have decrypted video footage of a U.S. Predator air strike on civilians in Afghanistan and that covert U.S. State Department agents followed Wikileaks’s editor from Iceland to Norway in a surveillance operation conducted jointly by the United States and Iceland. Iceland’s financially-strapped government recently announced a policy of becoming a haven for websites that fear political oppression and censorship in their home countries. However, in the case of Wikileaks, countries like China and Thailand are suspicious of the websites’ actual “ownership.”Wikileaks says it intends to show its video at an April 5 press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC but that its presenters may be detained or arrested before that time. WMR’s sources believe the Wikileaks “militancy” in the face of supposed surveillance appears fake. Our Asian intelligence sources report the following: “Wikileaks is running a disinformation campaign, crying persecution by U.S. intelligence- when it is U.S. intelligence itself. Its [Wikileaks'] activities in Iceland are totally suspect.” Wikileaks claims it is the victim of a new COINTELPRO [Counter Intelligence Program] operation directed by the Pentagon and various U.S. intelligence agencies. WMR’s sources believe that it is Wikileaks that is part and parcel of a cyber-COINTELPRO campaign, such as that proposed by President Obama’s “information czar,” Dr. Cass Sunstein.

Eating the Irish

(that punishing the populace for the bankers’ sins is worse than a crime; it’s a mistake.)
What we need now is another Jonathan Swift.
Most people know Swift as the author of “Gulliver’s Travels.” But recent events have me thinking of his 1729 essay “A Modest Proposal,” in which he observed the dire poverty of the Irish, and offered a solution: sell the children as food. “I grant this food will be somewhat dear,” he admitted, but this would make it “very proper for landlords, who, as they have already devoured most of the parents, seem to have the best title to the children.”
O.K., these days it’s not the landlords, it’s the bankers — and they’re just impoverishing the populace, not eating it. But only a satirist — and one with a very savage pen — could do justice to what’s happening to Ireland now.The Irish story began

Britain Keeps Silent on Afghan Impostor Claim

PARIS — Authorities in London withheld a formal response on Friday to a reported accusation by a senior Afghan official that the British introduced an impostor posing as a high Taliban commander into the presidential palace in Kabul to meet President Hamid Karzai.
News of the embarrassing ruse emerged earlier this week in an article in The New York Times saying that a man identifying himself as Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansour, one of the most senior commanders in the Taliban movement, had held three meetings withNATO and Afghan officials, encouraging hopes of a negotiated settlement to the nine-year-old war.
The fake Taliban leader even met with President Karzai, after being flown to Kabul on a NATO aircraft and ushered into the presidential palace, officials said told The New York Times.

Wikileaks plans to release classified U.S. diplomatic cables revealing corruption allegations against foreign governments and leaders, says a Reuters report quoting sources. The whistle-blowing website said in Twitter messages early this week that it would soon release 2.8 million secret papers,
